Qualifications M.B.B.S , M.Med.Sci.(Res), F.R.C.S.(Eng), F.R.C.S.(Tr&Orth)

Mr Robert Sneath is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. He specialises in the diagnosis, management and surgical treatment of spinal problems.

He trained at The London Hospital and carried out his orthopaedic training on the North-West London hospital rotation including Charing Cross and Chelsea & Westminster Hospitals. His final spinal training was as a Spinal Fellow in Ontario, Canada working with both Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeons and Neurosurgeons.

Mr Sneath has managed emergency and out-of-hour spinal referrals for over 15 years at a busy Level 1 Trauma unit at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire and continues to do so. He is a founding member of the complex spine rota taking on the more complex cases from spinal colleagues and takes an active part in weekly spinal multidisciplinary team meetings. Mr Sneath also takes part in private patient multidisciplinary team meetings with colleagues from Warwickshire Clincs (Mr Ahmed Abdelaal and Mr Nilam Shergill) as well as associated radiologists.

Mr Sneath takes part in the British Spine Registry and his patient outcome data is above average when compared to other UK spinal surgeons. His National Consultant Information Programme (NCIP) data confirm that he performs significantly more spinal procedures than the national average.

Mr Sneath’s goal with all patients is to confirm the correct diagnosis, explain the natural history of the condition and then discuss potential treatment options with their associated advantages and disadvantages. This approach enables patients to make informed decisions about their treatment plan.
